Early Years Foundation Stage

We operate one intake into both Nursery and Reception in September of each year. Children can enter Nursery from the age of three. We currently have provision either a morning, afternoon or full-time Nursery.  Applications for our Nursery should be made directly to school. Places will be allocated and offered by Frithwood Primary School.

Application forms for our Nursery are available from our school office.

An application form for extended nursery provision is available from the school office. You can check your eligibility for receiving the extended nursery provision by using the link below:

Please inform the office if you are in receipt of any benefits as this may mean your child is eligible for Pupil Premium funding.

Applications for Reception have to be made through the London Borough of Hillingdon. Places will be offered directly by the Borough.

Places in Reception are not guaranteed because your child is in our school Nursery and a separate application must be made.

Once you have been offered a place you will be invited to an induction meeting in the summer term before your child starts in the Autumn term. You will be given an admissions pack containing admission forms and a booklet explaining daily life in the Nursery and Reception classes.

Key Stage One and Key Stage Two

Applications from Year One to Year Six also have to be made to the Local Authority. The London Borough of Hillingdon will then offer your child a place if one is available. Once an offer has been made you will be invited to a meeting with the Mobility Coordinator.

Children transferring from other local schools will be admitted at the start of a new term or half term. Children new to the area will be admitted immediately. Children are usually admitted on Tuesdays.

If it has not been possible to offer your child a place at your preferred school, you have the right, by law to appeal to an independent panel. Click on the link below for the Hillingdon Admission Panel:

Community Schools Admissions Arrangements

As set out in the School Admissions Code, Admission authorities must set (‘determine’) admission arrangements annually. Where changes are proposed to admission arrangements, the admission authority must first publicly consult on those arrangements. Consultation must be for a minimum of 6 weeks and must take place between 1st October and 31st January of the school year before those arrangements are to apply.

Hillingdon Council is the admissions authority for all Hillingdon Community schools and the Council will be consulting for 8 weeks from 23rd October 2023 until 18th December 2023 (Midday) for changes to the admission criteria to be implemented for admission from September 2025.

You can access the proposed admission arrangements for Hillingdon community schools for 2025/2026 here (PDF attached)

Summary of proposed changes:

 Reduction of Published Admissions Numbers

All community schools have a published admissions number in accordance with the School Admissions Code 2021. This is the number of school places that the admission authority must offer in each relevant age group of a school for which it is the admission authority.

The Local Authority is consulting to reduce the Published Admission Number for:

  • Whitehall Infant School from 120 to 90, reducing the distance priority radius from 1250m to 1000m.
  • Whitehall Junior School from 120 to 90, reducing the distance priority radius from 1250m to 1000m.

How to respond?

The local authority welcomes your feedback.  You can access further information regarding the reasoning of proposed changes and make comments or suggestions in response, please visit the Council website via Community Schools consultation - Hillingdon Council

Alternatively, you can submit a written response to School Placement and Admissions Team, 3N/02, High Street, Uxbridge, UB8 1UW.

If you have any questions that have not been covered in the consultation document or that are specific to your circumstances and would like to discuss these, please contact admissions@hillingdon.gov.uk/01895 556644.
