Mathematics

During the teaching of Maths, learning is focused on specific objectives. There is a clear progression through  stages of mental strategies to written calculations as shown in our Calculation Policy.

There is a balance of practical and written activities to develop and consolidate areas of learning.  Where possible, lessons are linked to cross-curricular topics and everyday life.. 

Years 1 to 6 follow the new National Curriculum for Mathematics.
